Students may incorporate drawing, painting, or design sketches into their pottery-making process.

What You'll Learn

All Level Hand-Building 

Learn basic techniques, then create your own project (cup, plate, accessory, sculpture). Pieces will be glazed and fired. *Students may also use drawing, painting, or design sketches as part of their creative process. 

Wheel Throwing Class 

Students will learn essential wheel-throwing techniques such as centering, opening, pulling, shaping, and trimming, with an emphasis on form, control, and consistency. The class focuses on building strong foundational skills while developing confidence at the wheel.

One-Time Pottery Class 

One-Time Pottery Class Learn basic hand-building techniques and make one project of your choice (cup, plate, accessory, sculpture, etc). *Staff will glaze and fire your piece; it is ready in about 4 weeks.

What to Know Before You Register

  • For 7-Week Courses

    No prior experience is required.
    We recommend bringing the following basic items for a comfortable studio experience:

    • Comfortable clothing that can get messy

    • An apron or towel

    • Basic personal tools (optional)

    Upon registration, we will email a recommended materials list with details and options.

    For One-Day Workshops

    No prior experience is required.

    • All essential materials will be provided for the workshop

    • Aprons will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own if preferred

    • Please arrive 10 minutes early.

  • Adult 7-Week Courses

    All clay, glazes, and essential studio equipment are provided.
    For students interested in surface decoration and color, purchasing personal underglazes is recommended.

    Class time includes setup and cleaning time.

    Kids & Teen 7-Week Courses

    All clay, glazes, underglazes, and essential studio equipment are included in the tuition.
    No additional materials are required.

    Class time includes setup and cleaning time.

    One-Day Workshops

    All clay, glazes, underglazes, and essential studio materials are included.
    No additional materials are required for the workshop.

    Class time includes setup and cleaning time.

  • Adult 7-Week Courses

    Firings are $0.06 per cubic inch, covering both bisque and glaze firings, and are paid together at one time.

    Kids & Teen 7-Week Courses

    All firings (bisque and glaze) are included in the tuition.
    No additional firing fees apply.

    One-Day Workshops

    All firings (bisque and glaze) are included in the workshop fee.
    No additional firing fees apply.

    Finished pieces will be ready for pickup within 2–4 weeks after the workshop.

  • Adult 7-Week Courses

    Makeup sessions are offered through bench-time self-study.
    This allows students to make up missed classes through independent practice with flexible scheduling.

    Kids & Teen 7-Week Courses

    Makeup classes must be completed within the same 7-week session and do not carry over to the next session.
    Please contact the studio manager to schedule a makeup class.

  • Bench Time (Adults Only)

    Bench time is available for independent practice only and is open to Adult 7-Week Course students only.

    • Each student receives up to 4 hours of free bench time per week

    • Students who would like additional access may add $40 at registration for extended bench time throughout the 7-week session

    Bench Time Schedule

    • Monday: 11:00 AM–3:00 PM | 6:00 PM–8:00 PM

    • Wednesday: 4:00 PM–8:00 PM

    • Thursday: 11:00 AM–3:00 PM

    Is bench time supervised?

    Bench time is self-guided and intended for independent work.
    Instruction is not provided during bench time.

    • Cancellations made at least 24 hours prior to the class are eligible for a full refund.

    • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the class will receive a class credit only, valid for one year.

    • Once the session has begun, no refunds will be issued.
